iPhone Self Portraits

So i have not been doodling recently for various reasons, a Major one being quite in inspired as well as being quite busy. But i have had the chance to play with my new iPhone camera so thought i would share a little. here are some self portraits

Branding

The last few days i have been working on rebranding and rebuilding my website. and these are some of the experiments i have been doing, not totally sure where im going at the moment but i like the insplats so i think i will carry those forward abit

Work In Progress

This is a painting i started but kinda have lost steam on, i got stuck on the hair and then kinda stopped but i will finish it at some point but though i would show my progress

Consequential drawing's

These are some consequential drawing's me and my mates did thought i would share, there are many more to come so i will keep posting. I find that they can be great inspiration sometimes and a good way to flex your imagination muscles

New Post

I am incredibly behind on posting at the mo but i have been busy with job applications, weddings, birthdays, getting into a new gym routine and celebrating my 2:1 on my degree :D
Anyway this is a sketch i did last week and did not get time to scan in

Girl

I felt i should actually do something rather than just post some old work so i did this very quick doodle, took but 5mins maybe 10, well in any case it was very quick. i do realise that her forehead is way to short but that's my Major issues with the final image

Old Work: Gabriel

This was meant to be a fallen Angel or and Angel on earth, from what i can remember. I think unlike the others that i have done this was painted in Coral Painter.

Old Work: Equus

I have been going through my PC cleaning it up abit and came across some old work i did for uni.
this was inspired by seeing Equus. We had a project to design a mythical creature and write a mythology for it, i had several ideas, the one i went with was not this one but of an ancient people who had bonded with nature and lived as part of the trees of the great forests, they were loosely based on the elves from the stage production of the lord of the rings. If i manage to find that work i might post it as a follow up to this.
This was one of my other creature, as i said based on seeing Equus, i loved the play thought it was amazing. One of the things that struck me were the horses, not men in horse costumes but in skin tight body suits with hoofed feet and these skeleton like heads made of a metal frame.
My Creature the Equui we the slaves of the gods, as horses are the slaves of there children, deep beneath the earth the Equui were chained to the stone and made to drag the earth on its rotation.
I quite like the idea, but i think it needs work

Olympian

I have been working on this all week, developing my digital painting skills i based it on a black and white photo. my original idea was to have him holding a globe but decided against it in the end
There are a few things i am not quite happy with but i think its a marked improvement on my last painting. So I'm gonna try and find some more things to paint, as I'm feeling a little uninspired at the mo and work on my technique. So might do some more pencil work until then

I have not done a huge amount of digital painting before but i really want to improve i though its time to start. so this is a first go, i like it but a few thins i should have done better, defiantly should start at a higher resolution, but as it was just my first go i did not go for something to big.

Chalk

having given charcoal ago again i decided to give the chalk ago again as well, i based this on one of the pages of Keira Knightley 'Wizard of Oz' Vogue photo shoot . Its the tornado from the beginning of the movie but i kinda wondered from the subject matter and made it a little more ghostly. i kinda wanted to suggest the forms rather than defining them

Charcol

I havent used charcol in ages and i found my charcol pencil so decided to give it ago again, i think i prefer traditional charcol to be honest but i do like it as a medium. though i am abit rusty as you can see in my doodles but i will start practicing again i think

A New Approach

I have not been posting much cause well i have been busy with looking for jobs and seeing people so im changing my apprach to this blog, so i may not post everyday but i will try.
i have made a new header cause felt it more appropiate to my new approach, and i felt like trying a differnt style of design

Dr. Revilo

Me and my mate Olly are working on a project called 'Dr Revilo' i cant say much bout it cause its in early concept stage but this was a quick idea for the character Dr Revilo

This i s quick selfportait, a copy of some passport photos that i have on pinboard. i really like theses photo which is unusual for ID photos as usually they are not so flattering. anyway so i decided to copy it, i actually love how each drawing is differnt but is based on the same image

Charlie?

This was a quick doodle i made after going over my youtube subscriptions, its loosly based on Charlie McDonnell one of my favourite youtubers, not totally accurate thats why its only loosly based :P. I was not sure what to draw so i thought why not. I quite like it with the colour though the arms and hands are way off

IDGITS

I have decided to call these guys IGITS, they were quick idea based on the Sock Character's from 'Little big Planet', those i imagine them to act more like the alians form 'Toy Story'. the purple hat is the 'Thinking Cap' and makes them the leader for the day, well what i was think of so i might make some more designs and develop these charecters.
I have not decided what the are looking at but when i do i will add it to the image.

My New Blog

Hi this is my new blog, my intention with this blog is to post my doodlings, i doodle all the time, but usually they are on recipts , napkins and envelopes etc and they just get disgarded or lost, so by posting them they will last forever(ish), but also to encorage me to keep creative while in search for a job (having recently graduated) :D so i may also post non doodley stuff if i get bored or find something good :P


my first post will be my banner 'A Doodle A Day' i drew this when i got the idea for the blog but the blogspot address had already been taken so i may change the banner soon
